Utility Moratorium Lifting
Starting December 31, 2021, utility companies can start sending utility shut-off notices to those who owe utility arrears, unless the state of emergency is lifted prior, and for a period of 180 days after for those who suffered a change in financial circumstances due to the emergency. The Home Energy Assistance Program is a federally funded program that helps low-income homeowners and renters pay for utility and heating bills.
