Wosb Certification Eligibility Checklist
Here is a quick checklist to see if you qualify for certification:
- Confirm your size standard as a small business
- Be at least 51% owned and controlled by one or more women who are U.S. citizens. Provide any ONE of the following documents for enough firm owners who are U.S. Citizens to demonstrate that the applicant firm is at least 51 percent owned and controlled by United States citizens:

The Us Womens Chamber Of Commerce
As opposed to WBENC, the U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce does offer Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business certification in addition to WOSB. It takes around 15-30 days with a cost of $275 for members and $350 for non-members.

Can I Get Wosb Certified Without The Wbe
We will only add on the WOSB certificate for those eligible for the WBE. If your WBE application is denied, we will not complete your WOSB certificate. You can choose to apply for WOSB directly with the SBA .
Please also note that you cannot add on the WOSB mid-year. It must be added on at the time of submitting your certification or recertification application.

The main difference between these types of businesses is that EDWOSBs are owned by Economically Disadvantaged women. The Small Business Administration defines “Economic Disadvantage” as having a personal net worth of less than $750,000 adjusted gross yearly income averaged over the three years not exceeding $350,000, and the fair market value of all assets not exceeding $6 million. Businesses certified as EDWOSBs qualify for extra funding and may be selected in smaller set-aside solicitations pools than businesses certified as WOSBs. Contracting Officers must meet annual contracting goals by specifically limiting or setting aside certain solicitations for WOSBs or EDWOSBs.
- Businesses must be 51% or greater owned by a woman the woman must be a US Citizen
