Online

Mississippis Common Web Portal at Access.ms.gov is a convenient way to apply for children, pregnant women, low-income parents of children under age 18 and anyone else who needs to apply. Documents can be uploaded and sent electronically with your application to the Medicaid Regional Office serving your county of residence. Medicaid Specialists in the Regional Office check available electronic sources to verify as much information as possible and then follow-up if additional information is needed. The Mississippi Division of Medicaid and the federally facilitated marketplace has one single application for all insurance affordability programs. Application for any of the insurance affordability programs may be filed online through Access.ms.gov or the FFM at Healthcare.gov. • Your parents’ insurance plan, if you are under age 26
  • A plan you purchase on your own directly from a health insurance company or through the Health Insurance Marketplace
  • Government programs such as

  • Who Is Eligible For Medicaid

More people than ever qualify for health care during government open enrollment

You may qualify for free or low-cost care through Medicaid based on income and family size.

In all states, Medicaid provides health coverage for some low-income people, families and children, pregnant women, the elderly, and people with disabilities. In some states the program covers all low-income adults below a certain income level.

Even if you were told you didn’t qualify for Medicaid in the past, you may qualify under the new rules. You can see if you qualify for Medicaid 2 ways:

    • Visit your state’s Medicaid website. Use the drop-down menu at the top of this page to pick your state. You can apply right now and find out if you qualify. If you qualify, coverage can begin immediately.
    • Fill out an application in the Health Insurance Marketplace. When you finish the application, we’ll tell you which programs you and your family qualify for. If it looks like anyone is eligible for Medicaid and/or CHIP, we’ll let the state agency know so you can enroll.

    Ontario Health Team Intake Process

With 51 Ontario Health Teams across the province that will cover 95% of Ontarians at maturity, the Ministry of Health is taking a targeted approach to the intake and assessment process, focusing on parts of the province that dont already have teams in place. The goal is to ensure that everyone in Ontario can benefit from better coordinated, more integrated care. Teams are being invited to complete full applications to become an approved Ontario Health Team on a case-by-case basis. At the same time, the ministry is continuing to support the expansion of provider partnerships in existing Ontario Health Teams.

    Choosing A Health Insurance Plan

Reading the fine print is important when choosing health care plans. These questions may help:

    • Can I go to any doctor, hospital, clinic, or pharmacy I choose?
    • Are specialists, such as eye doctors and dentists covered?
    • Does the plan cover special conditions or treatments such as pregnancy, psychiatric care, and physical therapy?
    • Does the plan cover home care or nursing home care?
    • Will the plan cover all medications my physician may prescribe?
    • What are the deductibles? This is the amount you must pay each year before your insurance company will begin paying claims.
    • Are there any co-payments? This is the amount of money you pay each time you receive medical services or a prescription.
    • If there is a dispute about a bill or service, how is it handled?

    Agents Brokers And Assisters

Agents and brokers are licensed sales people who usually receive a commission when they sell a policy. They typically only offer health plans from a range not all insurance providers.

Assisters are certified and trained to help you but find a marketplace plan or apply for Medicaid or CHIP but arent associated or paid with an insurance company.

    Preparing To Apply For Obamacare

If youre waiting for an enrollment period, you can take some time to familiarize yourself with health insurance and how much you can afford. Monthly premiums can range from $150 to $600 for individuals, but that sticker price doesnt account for other out-of-pocket expenses you might have to pay.

The marketplace will offer up many plans that may sound similar or confusing if you dont understand them. You can read our guide to health insurance, including key aspects of a health plan, like deductibles, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket maximums.

If finding affordable care is a priority, you might qualify for a health insurance subsidy based on your projected income levels. To estimate your income, you should start with your adjusted gross income from your last tax return and adjust for any changes . Gathering this information ahead can help you gain a better understanding of your options when it comes to plans and subsidies and what you can afford.

Healthcare.gov will be able to tell you what kinds of subsidies you might qualify for, like the premium tax credit, but you wont know the exact subsidy amounts and plan prices until you fill out the actual application.
