Applicants to the Arkansas Section 8 Program need to meet a set of eligibility requirements. These eligibility requirements are mainly based on the applicants family income, area of residence and nationality. The Arkansas section 8 program gives special priority to the elderly, disabled and to families with children.

Arkansas Section 8 -Income Eligibility Requirements

Applicants to the Arkansas Section 8 need to have an income that is either equal to or less than the specified income maximum depending on the household size. In order to be eligible to the Arkansas Housing Choice program, applicants need to be residents of the state of Arkansas and either US nationals or registered legal aliens.

Housing Choice Voucher Program

Agency Housing Choice Voucher Program is a long-term rental voucher assistance program federally funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development . It aims to provide access to safe and affordable housing for eligible families within Pulaski County. The Pulaski County Housing Agency accepts applications for the HCV waiting list as funding permits. Eligibility for the Pulaski County HCV program is determined by family size and need. By partnering with local landlords the Pulaski County Housing Agency affords participants the opportunity to lease safe, decent, and affordable properties such as single-family homes, townhouses, apartments, and duplexes.

The Pulaski County Waiting List is currently closed.

Home Energy Assistance Program

The Home Energy Assistance Program provides financial assistance to approximately 60,000 households each year to help them meet the costs of home energy i.e. gas, electricity, propane, etc. It also offers weatherization services and case management activities which are designed to encourage and enable households to reduce their energy costs and thereby, their need for financial assistance.

You should have gotten a letter called a Notice of Adverse Action. To request a hearing to appeal the action, you need to send a written request for a hearing to the Licensing Specialist or Licensing Supervisor within 10 days of the date on the notice of adverse action.

Citing Selangor as an example, its minister Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican said recovery assistance was still extended to the state by the Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing Corporation .

Although Selangor has its solid management system, in this situation, we want to help and will apply for additional assistance in ensuring that post-flood recovery runs smoothly, he said.

He added that the ministry has allocated a total of RM6 million to SWCorp to carry out clean-up works at residential areas and roads in states affected by floods.

SWCorp has already been instructed to double its assets to assist in the post-flood recovery process, he told reporters after visiting the temporary relief centre at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tengku Ampuan Afzan in Chenor here today.

According to Act 672, solid waste and public cleansing in Johor, Melaka, Negri Sembilan, Pahang, Kedah, Perlis, the Federal Territories of Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur are under the management of KPKT, while Selangor, Penang, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Sabah, Sarawak and the Federal Territory of Labuan manage their solid waste and public cleansing.

Selangor, Pahang, Terengganu, Kelantan, Negri Sembilan, Melaka and Perak are among the states hit by the floods since Sunday.

Rental Assistance Available For Eligible Arkansans Affected By Covid

There are two DHS programs offering rental assistance for Arkansas residents: the Arkansas Rent Relief Program and the Emergency Solutions Grant Program.

The Arkansas Rent Relief Program offers financial help to pay overdue and upcoming rent and utilities for eligible Arkansas renters. Landlords who have tenants unable to pay their rent because of lost income or the COVID-19 pandemic also may apply. The state of Arkansas has $173 million of federal funding for this program. Once an application is approved, money is paid directly to landlords, or tenants should the landlord choose not to participate, and utilities companies.

Emergency Solution Grant Program

The Emergency Solution Grant Program is a grant program, is a partnership between the Pulaski County Government and the Arkansas Department of Human Services. This program is dedicated to providing needed assistance for families who are at imminent risk of being homeless or are literally homeless as defined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development under the Hearth Act. The ESG Program is designed to quickly help participants obtain or maintain stable permanent housing after experiencing a crisis situation.

The ESG Program has two components in which it provides rental assistance to individuals or families who are deemed eligible.

  • Homeless Prevention Assistance: For individuals and families who are currently housed but are at risk of becoming homeless due to receiving a notice of eviction, who need temporary stabilization assistance to prevent them from becoming literally homeless.
  • Rapid Re-Housing Assistance: For individuals and families who are literally homeless and need temporary assistance in order to obtain housing.

Depending on the level of need of each participant, the HP/RR program can assist with short or medium-term rental assistance along with valuable resource information to help empower and encourage each participant on their journey towards self-sufficiency.
