/7 Information For Providers Physicians And Hospital Information Online

Where can you refer employees to find a new doctor when they move? Or perhaps when they are traveling or on vacation and they have misplaced their medication. Where do they go to find a Preferred pharmacy to refill their prescription? Maybe they want to check out the specialist their primary care physician has referred them to for treatment of their diabetes. The online Provider Directory on our web site can help them answer these questions and more.

Why Use Preferred Providers?

Knowing the providers in our national Preferred network is important to your employees for one big reason money. Employees can save money when they use Preferred physicians, hospitals, pharmacies and other professional health care providers because their out-of-pocket expense is less. It is also convenient to use Preferred providers since they will file any necessary claims to us. Employees don’t have to pay for covered charges upfront, except for any deductibles, coinsurance, or copayment amounts in some instances.

Locating Preferred Providers

If employees have been seeing the same physician for years, they may not have needed to use or realized the value of information in our online Provider Directory. Accessing and using the Provider Directory is easy. And it is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so it is convenient for them to use when they need information.

In addition to the FEP program, BCBS companies are identifying homebound members and sending out nurses and deploying mobile clinics to communities with low access to vaccination, such as seasonal farmworkers.

Along with other companies encouraging more people to get vaccinated, BCBS is working with community organizations, sports teams and local health care providers to conduct vaccine clinics, and offering bilingual staff and conducting community canvassing.
