Theyre nightly room rates at Florida Keys hotels for the Memorial Day weekend, according to prices listed this week on Expedia.com, which dont include the additional daily resort and parking fees that typically add about $40 per night to published room rates.
As of May 6, Key West hotel prices were the highest in the country, with Islamorada and Marathon filling the No. 2 and 3 slots, according to a survey by cheaphotels.org that included all hotels rated three or more stars in destinations all over the country that were either near a beach or an urban center.
In Islamorada, prices for weekend stays were as high as $1,009 a night at one resort, while others rates were $1,003 and $766 per night.
And yes, plenty of people are paying those prices.
The entire Florida Keys island chain is experiencing an unprecedented number of visitors, demand for lodging and willingness to pay the equivalent of a months rent in most cities for a single night in Key West or Islamorada.

It was our third time in Key West and our first time during the summer. Not a lot of good music options for two older African Americans. Key West seems geared for young people that want to drink excessively..that’s OK but not for us. The food was pretty good. Bike riding and sunset at Mallory Square was wonderful. Lots of beautiful architecture.

I was very happy with the cleanliness of the room. The location of the hotel was perfect and in close proximity to Duvall Street. The staff was very friendly and didn’t have a problem at all and they all wore masks. Maid service was by request only and I requested it daily and they came everyday and my room looked spotless. The pool was salt water and heated. The pool area was very nice and clean. They had daily to-go breakfast. I enjoyed my stay and would stay t Silver Palms Inn again if I traveled back to Key West.

My favorite part of Key West is Fort Zachary Taylor State Park for snorkeling!!! I also highly recommend Fury water adventures especially the Ultimate Adventure for a full day of awesome activities! This Was My First Visit To Key West
This was my first visit to Key West. I loved the Butterfly Conservatory. The tour of Ernest Hemingway’s Home was very interesting. The sunrises and sunsets are fabulous. Smather’s Beach is lovely. Key West is a very busy town with very limited and expensive parking.If I had to do over again, I believe I would have flown into Key Largo and rented a small car and driven to Key West. The drive is absolutely beautiful and full of gorgeous scenery.
