Are There Any Government Grants Available For Windows And Doors In 2021
Its become almost normal for every home in the UK to have double glazing fitted.
There are few houses across the country that have single glazed windows and because of this, there really doesnt seem to be a need for having grants available for windows and doors from the government that homeowners can apply for.
Take for example the Green Deal scheme, which was a government grant to help homeowners make energy-saving improvements , this government-backed scheme has since ended in 2015 due to a lack of interest.
And whilst there may be some schemes currently available, such as the Energy Company Obligation grant and the new Green Deal Finance Company grant, there is not a grant that is directly targeted to the double glazing industry.
Update: Government announces new Green Homes Grant Scheme. Full guide to Green Homes Grant Scheme available now.

What Is A Grant
A grant is a form of financial aid that the recipient does not have to repay. For those who qualify, grants may be issued by federal, state, and local governments.
Since tax revenues fund government grants, they frequently have strict rules and auditing procedures. Many grants are competitive even if you qualify for a grant, you may not necessarily receive it. You should apply for the grant as soon as possible.
Who Can Get A Grant
The federal government awards grants to organizations including:
State and local governments
The intent of most grants is to fund projects that will benefit specific parts of the population or the community as a whole. What you might see about grants online or in the media may not be true. The federal government does not offer grants or free money to individuals to start a business or cover personal expenses. For personal financial assistance, the government offers federal benefit programs. These programs help individuals and families become financially self-sufficient or lower their expenses.
Medicaid Home And Community
Medicaid enables each state to provide beneficiaries with HCBS waivers that cover services within the home for seniors and disabled individuals. While each states HCBS waivers differ, most include some coverage for home modifications. To qualify for Medicaid, applicants must be below their states income threshold and be either 65 years of age or older or living with a severe disability.
Rural Housing Preservation Grants
Housing Preservation Grants are provided to low and very low-income rural citizens to help cover the cost of home repairs and restorations. To qualify for this grant, homeowners must be represented by an agency such as a local or state government entity, federally recognized tribe, or a nonprofit organization.
Home Improvements And Structural Alterations Grants
HISA grants exist exclusively to help veterans and service members make home alterations that improve accessibility. That includes improving entrance ways, upgrading plumbing or electrical systems to accommodate medical equipment, and installing safety equipment in washrooms. A $6,800 lifetime benefit is only available to those who have a service-connected condition or a condition thats at least 50% service-connected. Veterans with a non-service-connected condition may qualify for up to $2,000.
